getting claustrophobic in here

I wish I'd had my digicam today! The Guild had it's weekly meeting today (well, off-season meeting as classes haven't started) and we were kinda overrun! We took over a quarter of the Starbucks section of the cafe. We had like 2 plushy chairs and 3 tables and a whole bunch of people gathering around. Even non-knitters were coming over to ask questions and watch us! Crazycrazy. I did get some advice on my sweater - I wanted someone's opinion but my own - my relatives are pathetic at this - cuz I want to do a different Inverness-Nairn area pattern on the sleeves of my raglan than the body - the body's pattern is too big, and I am of the opinion that cables really don't belong on sleeves. At least on my sweaters.

Then, Emily needed help converting her raglan pattern - yay! she's finally on to sweaters!! She's mastered hats and mittens and stuff. She left the meeting heading over to Borders to grab a copy of The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. Which should definitely help. She does want to knit it up at 7 sts/inch. While I find that admirable, I don't think she has enough yarn - so I advised her to up the needle size and get her gauge to 6 sts/inch. Anyway, the stitches we a bit tight.

Lemme'see. Hmm. Classes start tomorrow, and my brother's freaking out. He's really not the academic and ... oy. I'm fine. I only have class from 1 - 3pm (does a little dance). So, I shall work on my sleeves.

YES! I am onto the sleeves!! I shall post some pix when I am past the ribbing. Not much interesting happening on the needles yet. But, yes, I am doing both sleeves at once on two circulars - pffle to individual work. I hate knitting singles of pairs. Does that count as laziness or ... what?

Oh, in other personal news - I finally have over 1,000 songs on my iPod! It took me a month, but now I have a truly ecclectic mix going. And, I finally found some of my weirder CD's, which I'm extracting right now. Ah, the wonders of modern technology. Yumyumyum.

Anyway, that's all for now - thank you all who wished me luck on the new term! I shall need it :D But, for now, a sweater is calling my name.
